Kerala being an amalgam of backwaters, hill stations, beaches, cliffs and wildlife has always been a highly recommended tourists spot for every inbound travellers. But the recent outbreak of COVID 19 has seriously slashed down the activities and revenue of Kerala Tourism. Around 232 foreign tourists in Kerala were unable to travel back home due to the immediate ban on International flights as a measure to hinder the communal spread of this deadly virus. But the assistance and arrangements gathered by the Kerala Tourism and Home Ministry for their return is highly appreciable. All the 232 foreign guests were brought under strict medical examination and all asymptomatic guests who had no contact history with high risk individuals and who were tested negative after 14 days of observation were eligible for a return to their Home country. A well occupied Medical team was available for regular check ups and accomodation was arranged at various Hotels of KTDC.
The Air India flight that departed last week from Trivandrum International Airport carried the German and European union nationals to Frankfurt as The Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany came forward to repatriate their nationals stranded here in Kerala.
